1. Go to https://tools.careersandenterprise.co.uk/register
2. Enter your details in the green ‘Create an account’ box to the right of the screen:
- You must enter your organisational email address in the ‘Email address’ field - you will not be able to use a personal email address
- In the ‘Institution’ field, select your institution type from the dropdown so that you can enter the correct UKPRN for your organisation
- Start typing the UKPRN in the next box, please note that this field will allow numerical values only
- Check that the provider name matches the UKPRN you have entered
When you select a UKPRN in the provider dropdown, a tick box will display that you must tick in order to create your Compass account.
Please note: This tickbox appears only for the first person who creates a Compass account for the ITP and will consequently become the Compass Admin. If you are the second person to create a Compass account under the same UKPRN, you won't see the tickbox.
If you don’t know your UKPRN, check your ITP UKPRN.
3. When you have entered these details, read and confirm the GDPR message then click 'Create Account'
4. The next screen you see will depend on if an Administrator has already been set up for the ITP.
If there is an administrator at the ITP already, you will see the following information when you submit the form:
“The UKPRN you provided already exists in our system, indicating that your Post 16 provider already has an Administrator assigned. They will be responsible for verifying your registration.
Once your account is approved by the Administrator, we will send an email notification to the email address associated with your account to let you know this has been successful.
We appreciate your patience during this process.”
When the Administrator reviews a registration request, they will receive an email to login with the following text:
'Hi [Name_Surname],
Your registration has been successfully processed on Compass under name@name.uk (UKPRN____).
An Administrator role has been assigned to your email. As an Administrator, you are able to add new users on Compass, complete a self-evaluation to track your progress and access our Careers Leader Training Portal and other tools.
Before you get started you will need to set up your password. Please use the reset password function to set your password [a link].'
Administrators will receive registrations from users with the same UKPRN. Administrators review registrations and either accept or decline them.
Please note : It is best practice to nominate a member of staff as your Compass administrator. If an ITP has multiple sites, a Compass administrator will be needed for each site.
If there is no administrator at the ITP, you will see the following information when you submit the form:
“Your registration has been approved, and your account is now activated. Please check your emails as we have sent you instructions about setting your password. You will then be able to log in to Compass.”
Please note: The first user from an ITP that registers for a Compass account becomes the Administrator for the ITP and will be able to approve any subsequent users.
5. An email will be sent to your inbox asking you to confirm your account (check your Spam or Junk folder if this does not appear). An Administrator role will then be assigned to your email. As an Administrator, you can add new users on Compass, complete Compass evaluations and access the Careers Leader Training Portal.
6. Follow the instruction in the email to log in to Compass
7. Once logged in, you will see Compass tile at the bottom of your screen, click on 'Go to Dashboard' to access your Compass evaluations and to complete a new Compass evaluation:
